of Galicia, located in the northeast region of Austria-Hungary, showing the
Carpathian Mountains, the region from which the Carpatho-Rusyn people came. Galicia Region of the former Austro-Hungarian crownland to the north of the western Carpathians. Its chief cities were Lvov, now in the Ukraine, and Krakow, now in Poland. After two world wars and many name changes and divisions, Galicia enters the 21st century a land divided between the countries of Poland and the Ukraine. |
