Washlaski, Historian: newspaper obits, newspaper articles, Pennsylvania Bureau of Mines Reports, township histories, and names of coal miners submitted by various people, etc..
The Nationalities listed for various miners, are taken directly from "Report of the Department of Mines of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg, PA" as reported for the various years.  Those listed as American, could be either native born or naturalized citizens.

(Killed.  Fatally injured by a fall of slate in the Greensburg No. 2 Mine, Feb. 24, 1906.);
(February 24, 1906, Colp Celestica, Italian Miner, was so seriously injured by a fall of slate in No. 21 room of No. 1 butt entry, left No. 3 entry, right, in the Greensburg No. 2 Mine, that death resulted the 28th of the same month.  An inquest was held and the verdict of the coroner's jury was that he came to his death by a fall of slate, due to his own negligence.)

(Killed.   Killed by blast, in the Greensburg No. 2 Mine, Dec. 3, 1907.  He was working in a room at the face in which he prepared a blast.  After igniting it he retreated some distance and hearing the report of a blast returned, but when within a few feet of the blast, it exploded.)

(Prosecution for Violation of Mining Laws:  an employee at the Greensburg No. 2 Mine, ca.1908, on information received, was charged with destroying a danger signal and also passing one.  He was found guilty, and was sentenced to pay a fine and costs of prosecution.)

(Killed.  Instantly killed by being caught between air locomotive and coal pillar on the main haulage road, in the Greensburg No. 2 Mine, Jan. 2, 1905.  They were taking the locomotive into the mine by hand and Synchick in company with others was in front pulling on a chain which had been attached to the locomotive.  The road being about level at this point, he let go and by some means fell to the side and was caught.)

Neilson, Mine Inspector, June 16, 1908, with using impure oil in Greensburg No. 2 Mine of Keystone Coal & Coke Company, and was arrested May 2, 1910, and plead guilty and was sentenced May 7, 1910, to pay a fine 0f $5.00 and costs.)
