Following is a partial list of the miners, coke workers, mine employees and company store employees that worked the Loyalhanna Mines & Coke Works, Loyalhanna / Latrobe, Derry Twp, Westmoreland Co., PA   The coal miners names have been researched and complied from various sources by Raymond A. Washlaski, Historian: newspaper obits, newspaper articles, Pennsylvania Bureau of Mines Reports, township histories, and names of coal miners submitted by various people, etc..
The Nationalities listed for various miners, are taken directly from "Report of the Department of Mines of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg, PA" as reported for the various years.  Those listed as American, could be either native born or naturalized citizens.

(Jan. 4, 1906, Robert George, American, employe, was so seriously injured by being struck by a railroad car near the car shops at the Loyalhanna No. 1 Mine, that death resulted about one-half hour thereafter.  He was engaged in painting a car on the shop siding.  Joseph Campana was running two cars down a parallel track and George happened to be standing too near the track and was struck.  An inquest was held and a verdict of accidental death rendered.)

(Killed.  Company Man, was instantly killed by falling down the Loyalhanna No. 2 Mine Shaft August 10, 1906. He had loaded a mine car of posts, and evidently forgot to close the gates after he had taken the mine car off the hoisting cage, and in pushing the mine car to the shaft after it was loaded, he pushed the mine car into the shaft and fell after it.  He knew the cage was not at the landing, as John Harkins, the engineer, called to him while he was loading the mine car and told him not to push it to the shaft as he was going to lower the cage to obey a signal given from the bottom, and Robb replied all right. Harkins could not see the shaft gates from where he was standing.)
